Overview

Our client in Kitchener is looking for a Tool & Die-maker to join their team in a full-time permanent position, fabricating and maintaining tooling and moulds.

As the ideal candidate, you will work 4X10 hour days and be the recipient of an hourly rate between $30.00-35.00 per hour plus benefits on completion of 3-month probation!

In this role, you will work together with the production and engineering teams to create, assemble and maintain moulds that function at optimal capacity.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of hands-on-experience in mould-making, tool and die work, or mould maintenance roles.
  • Post Secondary Education in Tool & Die Making, Precision Machining, CAD/Tool Design or related field
  • Experience with CNC machines is a MUST
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or certification program
  • Practical experience in diagnosing mould defects, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Prior work in a manufacturing setting, repairing and optimizing injections moulds
  • Deep understanding of mould-making processes

Job Duties:

  • Set up, operate, maintain machine tools (e.g. CNC mills, grinders, lathes, drill presses) to shape and assemble mould components
  • Interpret and work from technical blueprints, CAD models, and design specifications to plan mould fabrication
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and repair existing moulds and tooling, performing corrective adjustments as needed
  • Perform regular quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure moulds meet tolerances
  • Document fabrication and maintenance activities, maintain mold inventories, and update repair histories
  • Uphold workplace safety and housekeeping standards, adhering to health, safety, and operational procedures
