Senior Accountant
Overview
Our client in Kitchener-Waterloo is looking for a Senior Accountant, with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an Accounting role, to join their team in a Full-time permanent position!

Required Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an accounting role, with a passion for full-cycle accounting
- University degree or college certificate in accounting
- CPA designation considered an asset
- Knowledge of current Canadian accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements (ASPE)
- Strong fundamental math skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills (xlookup, custom table creation, index/match function)
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated accuracy in calculating, posting, correcting, and managing accounting figures and financial records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Daily Responsibilities:
- Complete the month-end reporting cycle for multiple companies
- Prepare monthly financial reports, analysis tools and other ad hoc reports
- Review bank records, perform bank reconciliations, and process payments
- Reconcile and enter monthly credit card transactions
- Maintain records of monthly fixed assets, depreciation, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting activities
- Support month-end and year-end requirements
- Collaborate with the Controller, management and various teams within the organization
- Act as a backup for payroll review and assist with payroll entries
- Lead knowledge base in company databases and ERP systems
- Identify, troubleshoot, document and resolve company ERP issues
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency
- Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements
