Quality Assurance Technician – Food Production (Afternoon Shift), Cambridge
Overview
On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting experienced and detail-oriented candidates for an open vacancy as a Quality Control Technician to work in Cambridge at an industrial bakery.

Pay Rate: $23.11/hr + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly
Shift: Afternoons: Monday to Friday: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine line checks and floor audits to ensure product quality and food safety standards are met
- Inspect production, packaging, sanitation, and warehouse processes (GMP, labeling, coding, weights, metal detection, hygiene, safety)
- Complete and maintain accurate quality records and documentation
- Verify compliance with procedures during production and changeovers, including allergen controls
- Identify, isolate, and document non-conforming product; follow hold/release procedures
- Collect and manage product samples, including retains and first runs
- Perform routine checks (e.g., chemical concentrations, filtration, general inspections)
- Report issues and deviations to supervisors and support corrective actions
- Follow all health & safety, food safety, and company policies
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a food production or quality role is required
- HACCP and Food Safety training is required
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and documentation skills
- Able to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, with frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive tasks
- Comfortable completing reports and data entry
- Must be able to consistently follow GMP standards, including no jewellery or false nails, and maintaining proper personal hygiene (arriving clean and prepared for work each shift)
- Willing and able to wear required PPE, including gloves, hair nets, beard nets, and steel-toe footwear
