Outbound Shipping Clerk
Overview
Our client in the Kitchener-Waterloo area is looking for an experienced Shipping Clerk with knowledge of Customs Documentation to join their team in a full-time permanent role!
Working in a fast-paced production environment, the Outbound Shipping Clerk will manage all outbound product shipments including scheduling shipments, securing transportation trucks, completing all documentation such as bills of lading and customs paperwork and answering customer inquiries.
This role will start on a Contract to permanent basis and the successful candidate will be hired on permanently. This is a day Shift and pays $21.00/hour.
Responsibilities:
- Book all outgoing shipments and update the outbound shipment calendar.
- Maintain the Sea Sheet for Container shipments.
- Communicate with customers pick up dates that correlate with customer request date, and/or early pick up date in an effort to avoid warehouse back log.
- Work with 3PL to ensure appointments and inventory is allocated appropriately.
- Ensure all outbound documentation is correct and processed.
- Responsible for creating, managing, and distributing to Proactive the outbound shipping orders as they correlate to individual customer sales orders.
- Send all required shipping documents to customers as required.
- Update all customer portals as loads are completed or scheduled.
- Analyze open orders ledger to align with customer request date and fulfill customer orders.
- Address and answer customer inquiries about pending orders and shipments.
- Prepare all custom related documents and support any customs questions (Tariffs, proforma, and customs clearance)
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
Required Skills:
- Must be able to follow written and verbal communication.
- Must have a good understanding of the English language to ensure that the Standard Operating Procedures, Incoming and outgoing paperwork are followed and recorded accurately.
- Extensive use of a computer is required. (Training provided)
- Great attention to detail with accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Good experience in supply chain and customs processes/paperwork
- Strong understanding of freight, and documentation and shipping procedures.
- Additional training, degree and/or related experience preferred. Working conditions
