Our client in Kitchener is looking for a Materials Expeditor with 1-3 years of experience to join their team in a full-time permanent role!

The Expeditor will ensure that all parts, materials and units are expedited through the manufacturing facility and will diligently coordinate with other facilities within the company.
If you have experience in expediting or scheduling materials for production, this role could be for you!
This role will start out on a contract to permanent basis and will pay the hourly rate of $19.87 per hour to start!

Required Skills:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent. Related college courses in inventory control and/or scheduling an asset.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in expediting or scheduling.
  • Highly Organized, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Must have good computer skills, able to update reports and learn new software
  • Works independently and exercises ingenuity.
  • Able to problem-solve without consulting a supervisor.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the company in order to expedite materials for production.
  • Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in addressing issues, especially when items are found to be not moving as they should.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Issue daily production reports, marked with priorities to all Team Leaders and runs the production meeting.
  • Expedites all parts, supplies and units through the manufacturing facility. Expedite & track shortages to meet production schedules.
  • Continuously collaborate with plant associates, expediting all Express & Regular orders to ensure 98% on-time delivery performance is achieved.
  • Flag and expedite shortages of plant materials at all plants to ensure completion of production schedules.
  • Advises Supervision and Plant Management of all situations that pose a “risk” to schedule and follows up.
  • Labels and flags material that is late for production utilizing existing systems established.
  • Incorporates systems that visually identify status of units on the floor.
  • Notifies Team Leaders on orders to be processed in priority
  • Keeps track of specials and hot orders so that they are processed on schedule. This includes ensuring priorities are highlighted to Team Leaders until orders are complete
  • Prioritize & track rework parts and assist processing them through all different departments, using available alternate options.
  • Performs all responsibilities/services in accordance with company Quality Assurance procedures and safety practices
  • Issue weekly output reports.
  • Assists in cycle counting critical parts in shortage situations
