Overview

On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting skilled and detail-focused candidates for an open vacancy as a Quality Control Inspector in Waterloo.

This is a high-precision role requiring hands-on experience with specialized measuring equipment working with metals and plastics. Candidates without direct experience using these tools in a manufacturing setting will not be considered.

Pay Rate: $23.11/hr + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly

Shift: Days Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:30pm, Friday: 7:00am – 11:00am

Candidates must have hands-on experience using precision measuring tools, including:

  • Vernier calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Height gauges
  • Angle gauges / protractors

All candidates will be required to complete a measurement assessment during the interview process. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed inspections using precision measuring tools to confirm product dimensions and tolerances meet specifications
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy throughout the inspection process
  • Complete first article, in-process, and final inspections while documenting results thoroughly
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials, supporting investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure all documentation is up to date
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to uphold standards and resolve issues efficiently
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on precision measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications with accuracy
  • Advanced proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related equipment
  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Assets:

  • Overhead crane experience
  • Forklift license

Requirements:

  • CSA approved safety footwear
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
