On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting an experienced Quality Assurance Technician for a full-time opportunity in WATERLOO, ON.

Are you an experienced quality professional who takes pride in precision, problem-solving, and continuous improvement? Our client is looking for a career-minded Quality Assurance Technician with hands-on manufacturing experience to join their team and help ensure products consistently meet customer, industry, and internal quality standards.

This position requires 3–5 years of relevant Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates without applicable QA experience will not be considered – this is not an entry level postion.

This is a FULL-TIME opportunity with potential for long-term employment.

Hours of Work

  • Rotating 3-shift schedule: Days, Afternoons & Nights
  • Shift rotation every two weeks
  • Overtime and occasional weekends as required

Pay Rate: $24.00–$28.00/hr + 4% vacation pay added to each weekly cheque

Responsibilities

  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections to verify products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers/calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns and ensure non-conforming material is properly contained
  • Complete accurate inspection reports, quality records, and production documentation
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitor manufacturing processes for compliance with quality procedures, customer requirements, and ISO 9001 standards
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Management to resolve quality issues and improve processes
  • Participate in internal audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality system activities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company health and safety procedures

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience in automotive, metal fabrication, tubing, or precision manufacturing is strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary education or formal training in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong hands-on experience using micrometers, verniers/calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
  • Experience performing first-off, in-process, and final inspections
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate quality issues and support corrective actions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable working with electronic quality records and manufacturing software
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, and Management
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Reliable and flexible with the ability to work a rotating 3-shift schedule, changing every two weeks
  • Available for overtime and occasional weekends as required
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
