Experienced Cutter / Guillotine Operator – Kitchener (night shift)
Overview
On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting experienced candidates with strong attention to detail for an open vacancy as a Cutter / Guillotine Operator.
Selected candidates must have proven experience within the print or bindery industry, demonstrate a high level of accuracy, and be capable of working independently in a fast-paced production environment. This is a specialized role—general machine operator experience will not be considered.
Night Shift: Monday to Friday, 11:00pm – 8:00am, Training on day shift for 1–2 weeks prior to transitioning to nights
Rate of pay: $22.00 – $26.00/hr dependent on experience + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate guillotine cutting equipment while reading and interpreting job tickets to complete print jobs accurately and to spec
- Measure, align, and trim materials with precision while monitoring quality and making necessary machine adjustments
- Troubleshoot minor equipment or material issues, perform routine maintenance including blade changes, and keep production running efficiently
- Sort finished and rejected materials appropriately while coordinating with production teams to meet deadlines and maintain workflow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of direct guillotine/cutter experience in a print or bindery environment with strong knowledge of production workflows and job specifications
- Mechanically inclined with proven problem-solving ability, capable of working independently, taking initiative, and ideally supporting or training others
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced industrial setting while maintaining consistent attendance and reliability
- Must have CSA safety shoes
