Our client in Kitchener is looking for an Electrical Applications Engineer to join their team in a full-time permanent role!

In this role, you will work closely with customers, understand their product requirements and make their dreams into a reality! A passion for customer service is also a prerequisite of this role!

Required Skills: 

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics with a focus on electrical systems
  • 3-5 years of experience and strong knowledge of electric motor controllers, electric motors, and applications
  • Experience in a customer-focussed, technical support or electrical application engineering role
  • Experience or passionate interest in electrical vehicle powertrain design and integration would be an asset
  • Good understanding of the functional safety of electric motors and the ability to troubleshoot electrical system failure
  • Experience working with business customers to gather specifications and provide solutions for their product development
  • Hands-on experience with wiring, installing and troubleshooting electric vehicle control and traction systems
  • Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with a focus on providing top notch service
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have or working on obtaining a Professional Engineer designation
  • Ability to travel internationally, occasionally, as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain detailed familiarity with company products and technologies
  • Gather and understand Customers’ product requirements: assist in developing Scope of Work (SOW), Requests for Proposals (RFP) etc.
  • Provide technical support and consultation for the design and implementation of electric motors and controller systems for customer products. 
  • Develop and provide technical/product training and support for the Sales Team, Sales Representatives and Customers
  • Provide technical support and guidance to electric vehicle manufacturers, dealers and end-users.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical systems, including software, mechanical and electrical hardware
  • Ability to monitor market conditions and competition to support the organization in understanding the market and help to develop new products
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to promote the company’s products and services
  • Onboard and support customers through their product development cycles
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including datasheets and user manuals
  • Provide support for functional safety and electrical system failure analysis
  • Develop and analyze electrical and mechanical solutions/schematics
