CNC Machinists
Overview
Our client in Kitchener is looking for several machinists to join their team in full-time permanent roles!
As a “TRUE Machinist” you will be able to set-up and operate several machines at once and be able to troubleshoot minor issues with the programs!
You will maintain computer-controlled machines to produce precision parts and components and be able to read technical drawings or blueprints, program the machines using G-code or M-code, and monitor mill and lathe processes to ensure quality and accuracy of production!
This position works 2-week rotating shifts and will earn an hourly rate between $31.00-41.00 per hour plus shift premiums; for afternoons (1.50) and nights (2.00)!

Skill Requirements:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in machining preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and align job functions in a manner that maximizes efficiency and production.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to interact with co-workers in a positive and professional manner adhering to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
Job Duties:
- Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; trouble shooting; entering tool and D-Comp offsets;
- Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets
- Calculating Work Offsets (all axes)
- Indicating and Edge Finding
- Understanding program/D-Comps, part edge and center path programming
- Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. ‘Free State’ condition and part clamped maintaining free state)
- Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments (eg. Microhead); spring pass; test cut bore; graduations on boring bar
- Tape proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts
- Preventive maintenance
- 6-S Activities, 5-S Activities
- Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness
- Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo)
- Work closely with other operators and members of other departments to produce a high-quality part.
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, including H&S requirements.
- Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
