Food Production Machine Operators – Elmira
Overview
On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting experienced Food Production Machine Operators for current full-time vacancies in Elmira, ON.
We are hiring now for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals with a minimum of 2 years of experience in food processing machine operation.
The successful candidate must understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as they relate to food safety and food production and be comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Reliability and dependability are crucial in this role. This is a small team in a family-run business where every team member plays an important part in maintaining production, so we are looking for individuals who can consistently attend their scheduled shifts and commit to everyone’s success.
Your own personal, reliable transportation to Elmira is required.
Shift(s):
- Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Afternoons: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM ($1.00 Shift prem.)
- Nights: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM ($1.50 Shift prem.)
Pay Rate: $20/hr + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly!
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor food processing equipment on production lines.
- Complete equipment start-ups, changeovers and adjustments to maintain efficient production.
- Monitor the line throughout production and respond to equipment issues or defects.
- Follow GMPs and all food safety and production procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized production line throughout the shift.
- Complete full line sanitation following production.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate concerns to maintenance or management.
- Cross-train and provide coverage on other production lines as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food processing and/or machine operation is required.
- Strong understanding of GMPs as they relate to food safety and food production.
- Previous experience operating food processing or industrial equipment.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to make equipment adjustments and identify operating issues.
- Strong reliability, dependability and attendance record.
- Able to commit to a rotating 3-shift schedule.
- Reliable transportation to Elmira is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Comfortable working as part of a small team and taking initiative when required.
- Able to follow food safety, sanitation and production procedures consistently.
