Finisher (General Labour) – Kitchener
Overview
On behalf of one our client in Kitchener, Grand River Personnel is looking for “Finishers” to work on rotating shifts manufacturing cardboard boxes, and paper products in KITCHENER.
The finisher will be responsible for flat-packing boxes, material handling, operating a walkie, and helping out with other duties as necessary. If you are looking to build a long-term career with a great local company that has amazing opportunities, then this might be the fit for you!
The selected candidate should be open to being trained on a counter balanced forklift. License preferred, but not necessary.
This is a FULL-TIME, Continental 12 Hour Rotating Shifts – Days and Nights
2 Week Continental rotating 12 hour shifts – this means that you will be working 7am-7pm for 2 days, off for 2-3 days. After 2 weeks the schedule then switches to 7pm-7am for 2 weeks.
IMPORTANT: Due to the nature of the shifts, the rotations will include working on the weekends and some holidays – A calendar will be provided to reflect your schedule in advance for the entire calendar year.
Pay Rate: $19.50/hr (increases to 19.75 after 168 hours)+ 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly!
Responsibilities:
- Flat-packing boxes and case making (lifting boxes of product and placing on skids according to customer specifications.)
- Operating baler and compactor.
- Material handling with an Electric walkie.
- Finishing and packaging duties
- Adhere to company manufacturing practices –including health and safety, uniform, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Able to work a rotating Continental Shift and have excellent attendance
- Colour blindness test to be completed in our office
- Physically fit and able to carry out the duties of the work in a timely and efficient manner
- Must be capable for standing and walking for long periods of time (8-12 hours on feet)
- Able to pass a Criminal Background Check
- Attention to detail is a must
- Excellent written and Verbal communication
- Previous experience within an industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Due to involvement with the food industry- No fake nails, No fake eyelashes, No jewelry, No nail polish, No non-removable piercings will be allowed.
- Comfortable CSA Approved Footwear
