ELMIRA – Food Production Machine Operator
Overview
On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting experienced Food Production Machine Operators for current full-time vacancies in ELMIRA, ON.
We are hiring now for experienced, mechanically inclined individuals with at least 1 years of food processing and machine operating experience. The facility does not handle meat products.
This is a hands-on role in a family-run food manufacturing business where you’ll be an important part of a small production team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands GMPs and food safety, and can be counted on to show up, work safely, and keep production moving.
Reliability and dependability are essential. Every team member has an important role in keeping production on schedule, so consistent attendance and a genuine commitment to the team are a must.
This is a full-time opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position.
Your own reliable transportation to Elmira is required.
We are looking for candidates who already have manufacturing or production experience and are comfortable working around production equipment, inspecting parts, and maintaining a steady pace in a busy manufacturing environment.
Previous manufacturing or production experience is required. Candidates without relevant experience will not be considered.
Pay: $20.00/hour + $1.50 Shift Premium + 4% vacation pay added to each weekly cheque
Shifts: Nights 11:00PM – 7:00AM
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate and monitor food processing equipment throughout the production run
- Complete equipment start-ups, changeovers, adjustments, and line checks
- Monitor equipment and product quality and respond quickly to operating issues or defects
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and communicate maintenance concerns to the appropriate team member
- Follow GMPs, food safety requirements, sanitation procedures, and production standards
- Keep production equipment and work areas clean, sanitary, and organized
- Complete thorough line sanitation following production
- Cross-train on other production lines and provide coverage as required
- Work as part of a small team to keep production running safely and efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of food processing and/or machine operating experience
- Strong understanding of GMPs as they relate to food safety and food production
- Previous experience operating food processing or industrial production equipment
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to make equipment adjustments and recognize operating issues
- Strong attendance, reliability, and dependability
- Able to commit to a 3-shift rotation and work days, afternoons, and nights as required
- Reliable personal transportation to Elmira is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced production environment
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Willing to take initiative and assist where needed
- Consistent ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and production procedures
