Overview

On behalf of our client in Kitchener, Grand River Personnel is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Quality Cell Leader for an open vacancy to support production, drive quality standards, and provide hands-on leadership within a fast-paced injection molding manufacturing environment.

Students are not eligible for this role. Candidates without direct manufacturing quality and inspection experience will not be considered. We thank all applicants; however, only those selected for consideration will be contacted.

Shift: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Afternoons: 2:55pm – 11:00pm
Pay Rate: $18.75/hr + 4% Vacation pay added to each pay

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Shift Leader and Quality Assurance Leader with daily production and quality oversight
  • Act as a key communication link during shift handovers, ensuring accurate quality updates between teams
  • Perform and verify in-process visual and dimensional inspections using gauges, jigs, and Vernier calipers
  • Make informed quality decisions and escalate non-conformances as required
  • Ensure operators complete required in-process checks, scrap reporting, and quality documentation accurately
  • Train, orient, and support new, temporary, and transferred employees on quality procedures and expectations
  • Monitor adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and internal company procedures
  • Support 6S initiatives and help maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas
  • Promote and enforce all Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation including labels, stamps, reports, and tracking sheets
  • Provide floor support and assist machine operators as required to meet production needs

Requirements:

  • Previous leadership or senior operator experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection processes, and production flow
  • Hands-on experience using measuring tools such as gauges, calipers, and jigs
  • Ability to read and follow quality documentation and work instructions accurately
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written English)
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and make quick, accurate decisions
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (25 kg)
  • CSA-approved safety footwear
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with strong attendance
