Sports Flooring Installation Technician
Overview
On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting experienced and hardworking candidates for an open vacancy as a Sports Flooring Installation Technician serving the Kitchener-Waterloo region and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction, flooring, renovation, or installation experience who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in seeing a project come together from start to finish. Join a growing team specializing in the installation of high-performance sports and industrial flooring systems in schools, recreation facilities, and commercial environments.
Shift: Days (must be available for overtime, weekends, and occasional travel)
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $21.00/hr (based on experience) + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly
Hours: 40-50 hours per week
This is a FULL-TIME position and is not open to students.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of sports flooring, industrial flooring, sheet vinyl, and hardwood flooring systems
- Prepare work surfaces and apply adhesives according to installation specifications
- Move materials, tools, and equipment throughout job sites
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Measure, cut, fit, and install flooring materials
- Support project completion while maintaining quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous construction, flooring, renovation, carpentry, or installation experience
- Flooring installation experience is considered a strong asset
- Experience with sheet vinyl or hardwood flooring is highly preferred
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable bending, kneeling, crouching, and working on your feet throughout the day
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of job site environments
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel occasionally for out-of-town projects
- Availability for overtime and occasional weekend work
- CSA-approved safety footwear
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation is considered an asset
