Operations Coordinator – Bright, ON
Overview
On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Coordinator for a full-time contract opportunity in Bright, Ontario. Our client is a well-established manufacturer and distributor specializing in premium clay, aggregate, and landscape products used in sports field construction, landscaping, and surface applications across North America. With operations supporting both production and logistics, they are known for their strong customer relationships, quality products, and fast-paced team environment.
This position is expected to run approximately 3–4 months and will provide support across freight coordination, dispatch, customer service, and front office operations.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy environment, enjoy multitasking, and be comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with operational support duties.
Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00/hr (dependent on experience) + 4% vacation pay added to each pay
Shift: Days: 6:45am – flexible end time. This is a full time role
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, suppliers, and customers
- Track deliveries and communicate shipment updates to internal teams and customers
- Assist with freight quotes, rate requests, and transportation coordination
- Support dispatch operations by operating the truck scale and communicating load instructions to yard staff using CB radio
- Serve as the first point of contact for truck drivers, customers, and visitors
- Maintain shipping, receiving, customs, and transportation documentation
- Update ERP/TMS systems with order and shipment status information
- Assist with order entry and general administrative support duties
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Provide operational support across multiple departments as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in freight coordination, dispatch, logistics, shipping/receiving, or administrative support
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Experience with ERP or Transportation Management Systems considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse, yard, and office teams
- Reliable transportation required due to location
