Quality Control Technician
Overview
Our client in Elmira is looking for a Quality Control Technician with experience in a food production environment.
As the Quality Control Technician, you will perform daily quality assurance activity including inspections, internal audits, recommending corrective actions, and timely reporting in a fast-paced environment. You will work in a team environment in conjunction with production and operations.

Job Duties:
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections on equipment and workstations
- Perform and document on-line product inspection – weight, package integrity, label verification, GCP’s
- Collect and test production batch samples for specification conformance – bake-off, pH, SS, Viscosity, sensory evaluation
- Assist Product Developer with recipe development and modification to existing formulas
- Participate in Plant trials, traceability exercise and maintain QC daily records
- Collect and maintain product sample retention program
- Issue and collect daily production and sanitation records, review for accuracy
- Accurately complete and maintain HACCP /BRC records
- Perform incoming material inspections and sampling of raw materials and packaging, review incoming material COA
- Perform sanitation inspections, allergen swabs, environmental swabs
- Provide GMP training to plant employees, ensure GMP’s are followed
- Assist in complaint investigation, troubleshoot production errors and deviations
- Perform daily monitoring of sanitation practices, product storage and handling of allergens.
- Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- College / University diploma or degree in food science or science related studies.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in quality control in a food production environment
- Good understanding of HACCP / BRC or other Food Safety programs.
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team
- Preferred to have access to own transportation.
