Accounting clerk – Contract
Overview
Our client in Waterloo is looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to provide support to the Accounting department during the busy fall season!
This role would start out on a 6-8 week contract!
Hours would be Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at an hourly rate of $25.00/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately input data from various sources into specified systems or databases.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of entered data by cross-referencing original documents.
- Regularly update and maintain existing records to ensure information is current and correct.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in data with appropriate personnel or documentation.
- Organize and store source documents systematically for easy retrieval.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
- Work closely with other team members to gather necessary data and clarify incomplete information.
- Other tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills:
- College diploma or equivalent specializing in accounting or bookkeeping is required; additional certifications in data management are a plus.
- Prior experience in data entry or related administrative roles is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), data entry software and electronic filing cabinet software.
- Speed and accuracy of data entry is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
