Overview

Our client in Kitchener, is looking for a Licensed 433A Millwright to join their team in a permanent full-time direct hire position on either the day shift or on nights!

As the full-time Millwright, you will enjoy an hourly rate between $35.00-42.00/hour depending on experience! On the night shift you will also earn a shift premium of $1.05/ hour.

And  all full-time employees will enjoy a full benefit plan and pension plan!

*Note: Please only apply if you have a Millwright License 433A.

Responsibilities:

  • Full understanding of Lockout Tag out and energy control.
  • Inspects machinery and equipment for defects, and reports findings to supervisor.
  • Repairs machines or equipment, dismantling as necessary to gain access to defective parts. Reassembles machinery, ensures proper operation.
  • Uses blueprints, drawings, manuals or other specifications to perform the required job.
  • Work collaboratively with outside contractors working on repairs, installations and preventative maintenance.
  • Operate and repair plant support machinery, boilers, softener, compressors, filters, HVAC pumps etc.
  • Performs welding, soldering, brazing and use of shop machines.
  • Trouble shoots and resolves basic electrical problems in a safe manner.
  • Develop and implement preventative/ predictive maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment with regular housekeeping and use of PPE.
  • Actively participate in training of new members of the team
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Program.

Requirements:

  • Certified Industrial Mechanic/Millwright 433A, with excellent millwrighting skills
  • 3 to 5 years industrial manufacturing experience preferred; will consider newly licensed mechanics with completed apprenticeship
  • Good mechanical knowledge and application of compressed air, hydraulics and pneumatics, basic electrical, welding, pumps and preventative maintenance.
  • Good understanding of the demands of production and knowledge of EPP/EPS processing
  • Knowledge and application of Kurtz and Teubert steam chest moulding machines
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Must be Team Player and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have own tools (as defined by the Company)
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the job
  • Good communications skills
  • Above average welding skills an asset
  • Certification for operating Lift Trucks and Aerial Lift equipment in a safe manner & able to pass medical evaluation based on provincial standard.
  • Able to work off shifts and overtime as required
