Overview

On behalf of our client in Waterloo Region, we are searching for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join their HR team in a permanent role!

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations – manage the day to day issues with staff and ensure issues are being reviewed and addressed
  • Interface with the union and manage the grievance process
  • Health & Safety – maintain ongoing H & S programs and procedures and ensure compliance to legislation
  • Participate on the Safety Committee and interface with the MOL as required
  • Administration – maintain employee files, ensure required paperwork is processed to payroll and complete required reports and minutes
  • Performance Management – ensure compliance to Company procedures and policies, initiate and manage disciplinary proceedings in compliance with CBA
  • Conduct training as required
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and update policies and programs as required

Required Skills:

  • Have at least 3 – 5 years as an HR generalist with a concentration in H & S
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset
  • Use strong time management and organizational skills to ensure deadlines are met
  • Communicate professionally, both in verbal and written format
  • Apply knowledge of ESA, OHSA, other employment legislation and best practices
  • Previous experience in a unionized setting is an asset
  • Have the ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented and excellent follow up skills

Excellent compensation package with salary range between $50-70K depending on experience!
